Red Belt

  • Punches
  • Jab
  • Reverse punch
  • Hook punch – front and rear arms
  • Uppercut – front and rear arms

  • Inside knee block
  • Pad work incorporating above techniques

Yellow Belt

Defence against punches

  • Reverse punch – jab, drop evasion, parry with opposite hand, parry with forearm same side, parry and slip with same side, hand
  • Hook, punch, drop, evade outside arm, rising elbow, block
  • Uppercut punch, cover up, tight guard, parry same side with elbows and forearms

Mid section

Defence against kicks

  • Front push kick, rising cross knee, long guard, rear evasion
  • Round house kick, rear leg, same side rising knee and arm block, elbow outside of knee, evasion to the rear – long guard or close guard
  • Pad work incorporating above technique
  • Pre-set sparring – one step
  • Break falls
  • Rolling both sides
  • Self defence against single and double wrist grab
  • Shadow boxing incorporating above techniques

Orange Belt

  • Round house kick – low and high section
  • Front snap kick – front and rear legs, high section
  • Grab and front knee
  • Riving elbow block – against hook punch or round house
  • Drop evasion from both techniques
  • Hooking elbow block from straight punches
  • Pad work incorporating above techniques
  • Controlled sparring – 3 x 2 minutes
  • Break falls – rolling both sides
  • Side break fall- one side

Green Belt

  • Round house knee – rear leg, mid section, low section
  • Side kick – mid section, rear leg
  • Round house kick – high section, front leg
  • Round house kick – mid section, front leg, dropping back into opposite stance – to give added power to kick
  • Back kick – rear leg, mid section
  • Double long guard evasion from front and rear, push kick mid section
  • Defence and evasion from round house kick – low section and high section
  • Shin block against low kick, stepping away to the side into rising knee and arm block. Knee facing outwards
  • Dropping front leg back into opposite stance evasion
  • Defence against round house kick – high section. Front push kick, front and rear legs to mid section
  • Drop evasion and counter

Purple Belt

  • Over arm reverse punch rising elbow
  • Spinning back side kick. Side evasion, counter round house high section
  • Spinning back fist – drop evasion and low point kick

Blue Belt

  • Jumping reverse punch

  • Jumping rising knee - rear leg

Brown Belt

  • Evasion from all jumping techniques in previous grade
  • Double round house to low then high section – front rear legs
  • Defence against grab and front knee – front and rear legs
  • Sliding side kick from normal stance and horse stance
  • Jumping side kick from normal stance
  • Hook kick – front and rear legs
  • Reverse spinning hook kick
  • Controlled sparring – 6 x 2 minutes
  • All break falls
  • Defence against rounders bat
  • Self defence from swinging hook punch

Black Belt

  • All kicks, knees, elbows and punches
  • All jumping techniques from previous grades to be shown
  • All break falls from previous grades
  • Self defence against rounders bat, knife to throat, knife to mid section and knife slashing downwards
  • Student to teach pad work to blue grade and above
  • Grappling ? throwing etc.
  • Controlled sparring – 7 x 2 minutes

New Grading System

The grading panel will be made up of Keith Gray, Andy Ledden, Keith Matthews and a further two 2nd Dan’s from Krusader. Three in agreement means a pass, three against means a fail.

Students will now grade every four months. No double grading will be allowed. Students who fail will be allowed to grade again in four months time free of charge but those who do not re grade within four months must pay again.

Grading for students – red to purple will grade on the first Sunday in the quarter. Grading for students – blue to black will grade on the second Sunday of the quarter.

Grading fees for adults and junior are as follows:

  • Red £20.00
  • Yellow £20.00
  • Orange £20.00
  • Green £30.00
  • Purple £30.00
  • Blue £30.00
  • Brown £40.00
  • Black £70.00

As from September 2005 students must pay four weeks in advance. Check your newsletter for prices or look on www.krusader.com. Students must attend classes regularly to be eligible for gradings. All students who are grading must wear the club Tee shirt and suitable contact trousers or Thai shorts.

Minimum time to achieve black belt status is 32 months.

Those students who fail to acheive the required standard for 1st degree black belt may be awarded brown tag or black tag at the descression of the panel.

All successful students who reach the rank of black belt must teach once a week for a minimum of twelve months to receive their instructor’s certificate. They must also hold up to date licences and obtain professional indemnity insurance.

1st degree back belt instructors have to teach and further their martial arts skills by attending a minimum of two courses per year and will not be eligible to grade to 2nd Dan for a minimum of three years.
